Welcome to the new school year in the Heritage Elementary Library Media Center! It promises to be another great year of reading, exploring and learning. Heritage has led the way for teaching information skills and will continue to do that with biweekly library classes and lots of flex time for students to visit.
Once classes start, students from PK - 4th will learn about the Library. Information skills and technology skills are Life Skills. Every person in the 21st Century should know how to find and evaluate information and how to use technology. By the time a 4th grader graduates to 5th grade, they will be comfortable with those skills and ready to tackle most any learning necessary at their level. We do this by making learning personal and fun!
Parents are welcome in the Library! I'll be sending home information about digital resources that you and your family can access at home and about the many parent volunteer opportunities we have for you! Go to the Support Your Library tab for more information and an application. I need your help, and your kids love to see you helping at the school. When you volunteer in the Library, you are showing them that reading and information is important.
See you at the Library!
