That has proven to be a true statement! The past few months have flown by, because we have been so busy in the library! I apologize that I've neglected reporting it all in this blog!
Several students in 2nd, 3rd and 4th have earned Book Fair Bucks to spend at the next book fair! They have won "Shelf of the Week" in their section for having their adopted shelf neat and in order. Students who have adopted a shelf can come before school to maintain their shelf. Any student who has not adopted a shelf, but would like to, can come in and play the Library Order Game. Winning the game means they are ready to take care of a library shelf!
We had a super successful book fair in October and the next one is scheduled for the first week in May.
In this second semester, I plan to do creative projects with all the grades and to integrate technology wherever possible. I made videos of first graders, telling what their favorite thing is, or favorite person and explaining why they felt that way. This was a quick exercise to help them understand the speaking qualities necessary to be heard and understood on a video. My goal is to help them be perfectly at ease with all sorts of technology.
All our library lessons have supported the curriculum and, hopefully, was fun for the kids! We really had a great time celebrating Dr. Seuss Day! See the pictures of all the different activities in various classes here !!!!
I'm looking forward to seeing what unfolds between now and June! Stay tuned!!
